Loft Insulation Replacement in Crossmyloof, Glasgow
At this Crossmyloof home, Evergreen Sustainable Energy fully removed the old damp and vermin-soiled loft insulation, carried out a biocide mould treatment to all loft timbers, and repaired and sealed squirrel damage to the roof and timbers.
Following the removal, treatment and repairs, we installed new Knauf mineral wool insulation. The photographs show the loft before the work and the completed installation.

AfterBefore: a loft needing more than a top-up
The before photos show displaced old insulation, exposed areas between the ceiling joists and dark staining on some timbers. With damp and vermin-soiled insulation and squirrel damage to address, this project involved removal and restoration before the replacement insulation was installed.
Full removal of the old insulation
Our team fully removed the old damp and vermin-soiled insulation, clearing the loft ready for the timber treatment, repairs and new material.
Biocide mould treatment and squirrel damage repairs
We carried out a full biocide mould treatment to all loft timbers. The squirrel damage to the roof and timbers was repaired and sealed as part of the restoration work.
New Knauf mineral wool insulation
Following the preparation and repair work, we installed new Knauf mineral wool insulation. The after photos document the completed installation from two viewpoints.
